Isn't £49 a lot for a solo trader?
It is more than the £25-£35 a single-seat trade tool typically charges. The trade-off is that CMA is one fee for the whole business with every feature included - client portal, document and media sharing, online payments, scheduling, broadcast emails - and it stops being a price decision the moment you bring on an apprentice or a second tradesperson. Most solo traders save the cost back inside the first month from quicker quoting and one less piece of paperwork chased manually. If you genuinely never plan to hire and only need basic quoting, a cheaper single-seat tool may be the better fit.
How does this compare to Tradify's £34/user?
Tradify is per user. A two-person team is £68/month, three is £102, five is £170. CMA stays at £49 regardless. The break-even is two users - from the second seat upward CMA is cheaper, and the gap widens every time you hire. There is also a feature gap: Tradify does not include a self-service client portal, so you would still be paying extra elsewhere for the customer-facing experience.
What if I only need invoicing?
CMA is not the cheapest option if invoicing is genuinely all you want - a focused invoicing tool will run £8-£15/month. CMA earns its £49 when you also need at least two of: a client portal, a quote builder with a product catalogue, a calendar, a shared media library, document sharing, email broadcasts, or online card payments. If invoicing is step one and you can already see step two on the horizon, CMA is the cheaper move because there is nothing extra to bolt on later.
What happens when I add a second user?
Nothing changes on the price. Add a partner, an apprentice, or office help - the bill stays £49/month. Each team member gets their own login, their own activity is tracked separately, and you can scope what they see (private notes vs shared notes, for example). On a per-user tool, a second user typically doubles the bill on day one.
